The service learning capstone project will be a free improvisation/choreography workshop for local figure skaters at Tucker Road Ice Rink where skaters explore if movement can be physically and/or mentally therapeutic. Through movement exploration, students will develop their own style of skating that they can bring to the ice. They will also be given the chance to look for inspiration and hopefully explore how they can share their own stories and thoughts through the unique art of figure skating. After 8 weeks of the workshop, the project will culminate into a performance of several choreographic pieces all created by the local skaters of Tucker Road Ice Rink.
